Planning an event can be challenging. The Events Team provides practical advice, guidance, and resources to help organisers deliver safe, enjoyable, and successful events. Support includes: free advice and guidance for event organisers, assistance with planning and coordination, and sponsorship opportunities for local businesses

Event Support Funding

Littlehampton Town Council is committed to creating vibrant, inclusive events that bring the community together. Support funding is available to voluntary, cultural, commercial, charitable, and non-profit organisations hosting locally focused events with a positive impact on the community.

Event Support Funding aims to:

  • Support voluntary, cultural, charitable, commercial, and non-profit organisations
  • Enable locally focused events with community benefits
  • Encourage creativity and enthusiasm for events hosted in the town

Applications are assessed on alignment with the Events Strategy, including community benefit, inclusivity, and value for money.

To help us achieve the goals set out in the Events Strategy, we have created a detailed Action Plan. This plan outlines key steps, timelines, and responsibilities to ensure our events are inclusive, engaging, and aligned with community priorities.

Planning Outdoor Events

Event organisers hosting outdoor activities on public land or highways must comply with requirements set by Arun District Council (ADC) and, in some cases, West Sussex County Council (WSCC). These authorities oversee licensing, road closures, and event applications to ensure safety and smooth operations.

Road Closures

If your event will stop the flow of traffic on a public highway, you’ll need a Road Closure Order. For more information regarding application submission deadlines and requirements, please visit Arun District Council’s website.

Event Forum

The Event Forum was created to bring together community groups, local organisations, and event organisers to collaborate and build upon the successful events already held in Littlehampton. The aim is to strengthen partnerships and share ideas that enhance the town’s event offering.

The forum meets three times a year and works towards developing a year-long event programme that combines events organised by Littlehampton Town Council with those delivered by other groups. This collaborative approach ensures a diverse calendar of activities designed to showcase Littlehampton to both residents and visitors.

Why Attend?

  • Contribute to shaping a year-long event programme for the town
  • Network with other local organisers and community groups
  • Share ideas and explore partnership opportunities
  • Gain advice and guidance from the Events Team
  • Help create events that celebrate Littlehampton and attract visitors
